OVERVIEW
WHAT WE DO
Most electrical problems in commercial facilities are not random. They have causes — overloaded circuits, voltage imbalances, harmonic distortion, loose terminations, failed insulation, degraded contacts. Lightning Mobile Electric uses calibrated test equipment and a structured diagnostic methodology to find those causes and document them. Thermal imaging of energized equipment, power quality data logging, and circuit tracing are standard tools on every troubleshooting engagement. We deliver written root-cause reports, not verbal opinions and reset breakers.
CAPABILITIES
SCOPE OF SERVICE
INFRARED THERMAL IMAGING
Non-contact infrared scanning of energized electrical equipment identifies elevated temperatures from loose connections, overloaded conductors, failing breakers, and phase imbalances — before they become catastrophic failures. We provide documented thermal reports with temperature delta values, NETA categorization of findings (Warning, Monitor, Immediately Dangerous), and recommended corrective action with budget estimates.
- • Main switchgear and distribution panel scanning
- • Motor starter and drive thermal profiles
- • Connection and termination temperature surveys
- • Transformer and bus duct thermal imaging
- • NETA severity classification of all findings
- • Documented thermal reports with corrective action recommendations
POWER QUALITY ANALYSIS
Power quality problems — voltage sags, harmonics, transients, and power factor issues — cause equipment failures, nuisance trips, and increased energy cost. We deploy revenue-grade power quality analyzers on problem circuits or main feeds and log data over days or weeks to capture intermittent events. The analysis report identifies the source and recommends mitigation — harmonic filters, surge protection, power factor correction, or utility coordination.
- • Continuous voltage and current data logging
- • Harmonic distortion measurement (THD) and analysis
- • Power factor measurement and correction assessment
- • Transient and surge event capture
- • Voltage sag and interruption documentation
- • Power quality report with corrective action summary
CIRCUIT TRACING & FAULT LOCATION
In facilities with incomplete, incorrect, or nonexistent as-built drawings, tracing circuits is a prerequisite to safe work. We use signal injection equipment to trace energized and de-energized circuits through walls, conduits, and above ceilings — without opening every junction box. Ground fault location, open circuit identification, and short circuit isolation are performed with measurement-based methods, not trial and error.
- • Signal injection circuit tracing through walls and ceilings
- • Ground fault location on branch and feeder circuits
- • Open and high-resistance connection identification
- • Short circuit and fault isolation
- • Panel schedule verification and correction
- • As-built circuit documentation updates
ROOT-CAUSE DOCUMENTATION
Every troubleshooting engagement — regardless of the complexity — closes with a written report. The report documents what was found, what measurements were taken, what the root cause of the problem is, and what corrective action is recommended. Reports include photographs of findings, thermal images, power quality data summaries, and budget-level estimates for follow-up work. Documentation is designed for facility managers, property owners, and insurance carriers.
- • Photo-documented findings for all identified issues
- • Measurement data supporting each finding
- • Root-cause analysis with contributing factors
- • Corrective action recommendations in priority order
- • Budget-level estimates for recommended work
- • Insurance-ready documentation for equipment damage claims

THE 3P METHOD
HOW WE DELIVER
DISPATCH
Triage the reported symptom, identify the appropriate diagnostic crew and equipment, and deploy — same day for emergencies, scheduled for non-urgent investigations.
DIAGNOSE
Systematic measurement-based investigation — visual inspection, thermal imaging, power quality logging, circuit tracing, and load analysis. No guessing.
REPAIR
Execute repairs on-site if within scope and safe to do so. For larger corrective work, provide a detailed written scope and cost estimate before the crew leaves.
REPORT
Deliver a written report with photographs, measurements, root-cause analysis, corrective action recommendations, and budget-level estimates within 48 hours.
