COMMERCIAL EV CHARGING STATION INSTALLATION
LEVEL 2 AND LEVEL 3 DCFC · UTILITY COORDINATION · FLEET DEPOT CHARGING · REBATE CAPTURE
OVERVIEW
WHAT WE DO
Commercial EV charging infrastructure is a utility project, not just an electrical one. Lightning Mobile Electric manages the complete process — from the utility service application and transformer coordination through switchgear, civil work, charger installation, and network activation. We serve retail, hospitality, fleet, and municipal clients across the Intermountain West, delivering turnkey Level 2 and Level 3 DC fast charging infrastructure that qualifies for federal 30C tax credits and regional utility rebate programs.
CAPABILITIES
SCOPE OF SERVICE
LEVEL 3 DC FAST CHARGING (DCFC)
Turnkey installation of 50 kW to 350 kW DC fast chargers. Every DCFC project begins with a utility capacity review. We file the service application, size the transformer, design the switchgear, coordinate with the utility on interconnection, and manage every phase from concrete pad to network activation. We are manufacturer-agnostic and certified on all major commercial DCFC platforms.
- • Utility service application and transformer coordination
- • Medium-voltage primary work and switchgear design
- • Concrete pad, bollard protection, and site work
- • ChargePoint, ABB, Kempower, Tritium, BTC Power installation
- • Network enrollment, commissioning, and driver acceptance testing
LEVEL 2 WORKPLACE & DESTINATION CHARGING
Workplace, retail parking, multi-family residential, and hospitality Level 2 installations from single-port pedestals to 100-port campus rollouts. We assess existing panel capacity, specify load management to prevent service upgrade where possible, and design ADA-compliant installations that meet local permitting and building code requirements.
- • Panel capacity assessment and upgrade coordination
- • Load-sharing and power-management configurations
- • ChargePoint, Blink, EvoCharge, Enel X network-enabled units
- • ADA-compliant installation with striping and signage
- • Single-site and multi-site rollout programs
FLEET & DEPOT CHARGING
Purpose-built charging infrastructure for corporate, municipal transit, and logistics fleet operations. Fleet charging requires a fundamentally different design approach — sequenced charging schedules, demand charge mitigation, and integration with fleet telematics. We size service entrance capacity for full fleet charging loads and design BESS integration where demand charges make on-peak charging cost-prohibitive.
- • 480V three-phase depot service design
- • Scheduled and sequenced charging to minimize demand charges
- • Battery energy storage system (BESS) integration
- • Fleet telematics and charger dispatch management integration
- • Utility demand response program enrollment
SITE ASSESSMENT & INCENTIVE CAPTURE
Before construction begins, we complete a full electrical site assessment and incentive analysis. We identify the utility capacity available, what service work is required, which rebate programs the project qualifies for, and what the total installed cost and net cost after incentives will be. We prepare permit packages and manage AHJ coordination.
- • Electrical load study and service capacity verification
- • Utility interconnection application and coordination
- • Federal 30C tax credit qualification and documentation
- • Xcel Energy and Rocky Mountain Power rebate programs
- • Permit preparation and AHJ coordination

COMMERCIAL EV CHARGING
STATION INSTALLATION
Level 2 and Level 3 DCFC installation for commercial facilities, fleet depots, and industrial yards across the Intermountain West.
LME engineers developed the world's first durable log protocol for industrial EV chargers — STELE — a crash-safe, append-only event recorder built for the harshest environments. Every fault, session, and safety trip is committed to flash the instant it happens. Power cuts mid-write leave zero corruption and zero data loss.
STELE LOG PROTOCOL
World's first durable append-only log built for industrial EV chargers. CRC32C per record, crash-safe, zero corruption on hard reset.
PLC & CONTROL LOGIC
In-house PLC ladder logic for conveyors, charge sequencing, and safety interlocks — written and maintained by LME engineers.
CONTROLLER FIRMWARE
Custom embedded controllers for Level 3 DCFC units. Full firmware stack from session management to fault isolation.
OCPP INTEGRATION
Protocol bridging from proprietary LME telemetry to OCPP 1.6 / 2.0.1 backends for network operator compliance.
