OVERVIEW
WHAT WE DO
Data centers operate at 99.99 percent uptime requirements. Every electrical task — PDU installation, rack circuit termination, UPS battery replacement, cable tray work — must be executed inside live environments without interrupting production. Lightning Mobile Electric's data center crews are trained in concurrent maintenance protocols, energized work procedures under NFPA 70E, and Method of Procedure (MOP) development. We work in colocation facilities, hyperscale campuses, and enterprise data centers with the precision and documentation standards critical infrastructure demands.
CAPABILITIES
SCOPE OF SERVICE
PDU & POWER DISTRIBUTION
Floor-mount, overhead, and in-row PDU installation with A+B feed path verification and power monitoring integration. We stage equipment, coordinate maintenance windows, and execute PDU installations without interrupting adjacent circuits. Every installation is documented with circuit identification, phase balance verification, and infrared scan prior to energization.
- • Floor-mount and overhead PDU installation
- • Breaker and whip circuit configuration
- • A+B path redundancy verification
- • Power monitoring and DCIM integration
- • Phase balance measurement and documentation
- • Infrared scan prior to energization
RACK CIRCUITS & WHIPS
Branch circuit installation from PDU to rack — metered, monitored, properly labeled, and phase-balanced. We terminate circuits to the exact specifications of the data center's naming and documentation standards. Locking receptacles, cord management, and load balancing are managed to the rack level. Every circuit is tested and logged before the MOP is closed.
- • Single-phase and three-phase branch circuits
- • Locking receptacle installation (L5-20, L6-20, L6-30)
- • Phase and load balancing across PDU breakers
- • Circuit labeling per facility naming conventions
- • Load documentation and as-built circuit maps
- • Continuity and load testing prior to close-out
UPS & BATTERY SYSTEMS
UPS installation, battery string replacement, and static transfer switch testing across modular and monolithic systems. We work with all major UPS platforms and coordinate maintenance windows with the facility's power chain engineering team. Battery replacements are executed with the UPS live on bypass — no load interruption — by crews certified in energized battery string work.
- • Modular and monolithic UPS installation
- • VRLA and lithium-ion battery string replacement
- • Battery monitoring system integration
- • Static transfer switch (STS) testing
- • Runtime capacity testing and documentation
- • Remote monitoring and alerting configuration
STRUCTURED CABLING
Copper and fiber cabling, cross-connects, and rack-level cable management to TIA-942 standards. We terminate to the data center's existing documentation and labeling conventions, perform OTDR testing on all fiber circuits, and deliver a complete test and certification package before the MOP is closed.
- • CAT6A copper installation and termination
- • Single-mode and multi-mode fiber termination
- • OTDR testing and certification of all fiber runs
- • Cable tray, ladder rack, and pathway installation
- • Patch panel build and cross-connect wiring
- • Labeling, documentation, and as-built delivery

THE 3P METHOD
HOW WE DELIVER
SCOPE & SITE WALK
Review design documents and existing infrastructure, conduct a site walk with the facility operations team, and develop the detailed work plan and material list.
MOP DEVELOPMENT
Write the Method of Procedure, submit for customer review and approval, conduct safety briefings, and coordinate the maintenance window with the change management team.
EXECUTE
Install under concurrent maintenance protocols — zero-downtime execution in live white space. Power quality and circuit load are monitored continuously during all work.
VERIFY & CLOSE
Circuit testing, infrared thermal scan, as-built documentation, circuit labeling verification, and delivery of the complete close-out package per facility requirements.
